The Town of Danville strives to offer athletic programs which provide concrete, positive experiences for grade-school age youth and which promote qualities that are essential to raising successful young people. These programs include:
Junior Warriors Basketball Program
The Town of Danville is proud to partner with the Golden State Warriors Organization for our Danville basketball leagues this winter. We aim to encourage participation in youth basketball and assist the development of local youth by stressing the importance of commitment, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and hard work.
Each player receives a reversible micro-mesh Junior Warriors jersey and official Junior Warriors headband included with your fees. Coaches will distribute jerseys at practice. Players should wear athletic shorts and comfortable athletic shoes ( no black soles).
Practices start the week of December 5th.
Games start the week of January 14th.
Need Volunteer Coaches
We are seeking positive, committed, friendly, and energetic volunteers to coach our youth basketball. There is about a 15 – 20 hour total commitment spread out over 4 months. With our K-1st grade around an 8 hour time commitment.
Coaches will be provided a certification online coaching course. They will need to pass a fingerprint background check. A $40 refund will be given to each parent who volunteers as a coach and completes the coaching certification training the Town of Danville provides.
