Concert will feature violins, violas, cellos, harpsichord and more November 10.
The Town of Danville continues its Classical Music Corner series with the Albany Consort orchestra. The November 10 performance will be the fourth concert in the series, and feature four works from composers Bach, Sheli Nan, Handel and Nicolai.
The Albany Consort was founded by husband and wife team Jonathan Salzedo and Marion Rubinstein in 1974, getting its name from Albany Street in London. Based in California since 1981, these Bay area favorites tackle a repertoire based in the 17th and 18th centuries. Their lineup for the Classical Corner performance will include six violins/violas, three cellos/gambas, double bass, harpsichord, organ, and two recorders.
Previous shows in the Classical Music Corner series included a string quartet performance with opera singer Sara Couden in January, Laura Jeannin in 2022 and a harpsichord performance with Jory Vinikour in 2021. Tickets for the November 10 concert are $20, with a $10 student and educators discount available at the door with a valid ID (box office opens an hour prior to the show); advance ticket purchase is recommended and available now at www.danville.ca.gov/tickets.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. The Village Theatre & Art Gallery is at 233 Front St. in Danville. For additional information on the Classical Musical Corner, contact John Dunn at 925-314-3418 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
