Construction to Begin on Danville South Park Playground Renovation
The new year is beginning with more improvements to parks in Danville, as the Town prepares to launch a playground renovation project at Danville South Park. Work is expected to begin as early as Wednesday, January 14, marking the start of a significant investment in updated play amenities for local families.
During construction, the playground area will be closed to ensure the safety of park visitors and work crews. All other areas of Danville South Park will remain open to the public throughout the project. The Town appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this exciting transformation takes shape.
When the project is complete this spring, families can look forward to a refreshed play space designed to serve children of a wide range of ages and abilities. The redesigned playground will include a primary play structure, along with several secondary elements designed to encourage movement and exploration. New features will support active play opportunities such as climbing, balancing, spinning, and swinging, as well as a relocated sand play area that provides additional space for imaginative and hands-on play.
Through this project, the Town continues to invest in parks and recreation infrastructure to ensure Danville remains a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly community today and into the future.
