Outdoor Music and Movies Return to Danville

Free series of concerts and family-friendly movies start June 16.

Gather friends and family for the return of the annual Town of Danville Music in the Park and Moonlight Movies outdoor entertainment series. Make a picnic or pick up dinner from your favorite Danville spot and enjoy an evening outside. A concert or movie is scheduled every Friday, from June 16 through August 5.

The Moonlight Movies series returns Friday, June 16 at the Town Green. These evenings will start at 6:30 p.m.  with games and activities for families to enjoy followed by a movie at 8:15 p.m. (or when the sun goes down, whichever occurs first).  The 2023 Moonlight Movies schedule is:

  • June 16: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (PG-13) 
  • June 30: Lightyear (PG) 
  • July 14: The Emperor's New Groove (G) 
  • July 28: The Karate Kid (1984) (PG)

The Music in the Park series returns Friday, June 24 at Oak Hill Park, and wraps up August 5 at the Town Green. Concerts will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m., with a 20-minute intermission. The 2023 Music in the Park schedule is: 

  • June 24: Jacob Westfall (Pop/Indie); Oak Hill Park
  • July 8: The Shania Twain Experience (Country); Oak Hill Park 
  • July 22: Project 4 (R&B, Soul & Funk); Oak Hill Park 
  • August 5: Unauthorized Rolling Stones (Classic Rock); Town Green

Parking access for Oak Hill Park will be available at the Oak Hill Park Community Center parking lot and the Monte Vista High School parking lot next door. For the concert on the Town Green August 5, Front Street will be closed to through traffic, so guests are advised to arrive early to find their spots and set up.  Parking is available at the Village Theatre and Front Street parking lots. 

The concerts and movies are free and open to the public. Food and beverages are permitted, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and/or chairs to sit on, as well as layered clothing in case the evening gets cool.
