Danville man charged in a fatal collision that took the life of a 32-year- old woman

Danville Police investigated a fatal car/pedestrian accident that occurred on the evening of Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Wood Ranch Road.

Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said that at approximately 8:06 p.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian, 32-year-old Joyce Huang (Danville), was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Steven Seltzer (70, Danville) remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The Danville Police Department Traffic Unit Investigators determined the cause of the collision to be Seltzer’s failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk. On September 7, 2022, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed one charge of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter against Seltzer who remains out of custody.
