With the closing of the nomination period, Town Council incumbents Karen Stepper and Robert Storer filed for the two available seats on the Danville Town Council in the November 8, 2022 municipal election. No other candidates filed papers within the time allowed by state law.
California Election law allows for the Town Council to decide whether to cancel the election and appoint the two who have been nominated, or proceed with the election. Danville City Clerk Marie Sunseri said that the Town Council is expected to hold a special meeting the week of August 22, 2022 to take action to either appoint the two incumbents and cancel the election, or go forward with the election as planned. Cancelling the election will save the Town approximately $64,000 to $96,000 ($2-$3 per registered voter).
