[ARCHIVED] Harry Potter Fans Invited To A Magical Day Of Celebration

Harry Potter Fans Invited To A Magical Day Of Celebration

Happy Birthday to the Boy who Lived

Wizards and muggles alike are invited to join the Town of Danville on Saturday, July 31, at 10:00 a.m. on the Town Green to celebrate the annual Harry Potter Birthday Bash.

From “Potterheads” to those who just like magic, there’s a little something for everyone. Participants can pick up instructions for a Dobby Sock Hunt at participating Danville businesses and a Monster Book of Monsters craft kit. Costumes are strongly encouraged at all activities throughout the day. Pre-registration is required for the craft kit. Each kit is $5. Visit www.danville.ca.gov/recguide, reference activity code: 29611.

A Hogwarts Art Contest for artistic wizards and witches is a new edition to the celebrations this year. Create a masterpiece inspired by Hogwarts - the best magical school there ever was. The winning work of art will be used in marketing materials for next year’s Harry Potter Birthday Bash celebration. Artwork can be emailed to recreation@danville.ca.gov. All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on July 31. The winner will be announced the first week in August. Full details are available at www.danville.ca.gov/findthefun.

Residents can also celebrate from home by following the Recreation, Arts & Community Services Department @danvilleparksca on Instagram for Harry Potter trivia, how-to videos, and more.

For additional information, contact Recreation Superintendent, Jessica Wallner at (925) 314-3426 or jwallner@danville.ca.gov. The latest information on all Town events can be found on the website calendar at www.danville.ca.gov/calendar.
