Pledge Danville – Support Local Restaurants
Community urged to use takeout and curbside pick-up during shelter in place
As of December 6, 2020, Contra Costa County has returned to a restrictive Stay at Home order that is expected to have a significant impact on Danville’s business community. These retailers and restaurants need help and support more than ever. As part of adjusting to the shelter in place order, local eating establishments are ready and able to safely provide a variety of food options for patrons. Supporting restaurants through pick-up and takeout helps support the Danville business community.
Most restaurants have implemented online purchasing and takeout functionalities and even offer family meal bundles. Residents also have the option to call-ahead order and then swing by to pick-up or request curbside delivery to get their meals faster and fresher. As a means to further support these establishments, customers are encouraged to pick-up their local favorite dishes rather than use online delivery services such as Doordash or Grubhub. While these services are a helpful addition to supporting local businesses during normal times, the costs rendered proves challenging when restaurants are only able to provide takeout service. By picking up curbside, you are ensuring the restaurant directly receives your full monetary support.
The Town has established 10-minute curbside pick-up zones at various locations that have been reserved for this purpose. A map of these locations can be found on the Town of Danville website https://www.danville.ca.gov/181/Public-Parking
Special offerings from restaurants and other local businesses can be found in the Danville Business Directory - www.danville.ca.gov/businessdirectory. Residents can also support their favorite businesses through the purchase of gift cards and by sharing positive posts and reviews on social media. Help spread the word in your social media posts by tagging the business and using such hashtags as #pledgedanville #supportlocal #livelocallydanville
