Join the Agents of Discovery
Fun new program encourages outdoor exploration
Summer is here, which means it is time to get outside and play. And the Town of Danville, in partnership with the California Park and Recreation Society (CPRS) has just the way for young ones to enjoy it, via Agents of Discovery.
In conjunction with Parks Make Life Better! Month, the Town and CPRS have introduced Agents of Discovery, an augmented reality game that takes place right in Danville’s parks.
Agents of Discovery is an educational tech platform and app that helps youth and their families get active and engaged with the world around them. Players will assume the role of a secret "Agent” on a “Mission” as they complete site-specific geo-triggered challenges in Danville.
Agents of Discovery can be downloaded using the App Store or Google Play. Challenges are available at the Town Green, Oak Hill Park and Hap Magee Ranch Park. The first 100 participants to complete all 15 challenges will receive their choice of Town of Danville swag. Agents of Discovery is best played using WiFi, but is also accessible using cellular data.
The goal of the Parks Make Life Better! Campaign is to raise awareness of the benefits of parks and recreation throughout California and to raise the status of parks and recreation as an essential community service.
Once an agent has finished all their missions, be sure to take a screenshot of all three completed missions and email them to Program Supervisor Jessica Wallner at jwallner@danville.ca.gov.
