[ARCHIVED] Town Prepares for July 4 Parade

Town Prepares for Kiwanis July 4 Parade

Annual event begins at 9:00 a.m. on July 4, 2019

The Town of Danville and the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley are getting set for the Kiwanis July 4 Parade in downtown Danville. Thousands are expected to attend this wonderful annual event. The parade is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the north end of Hartz Avenue near San Ramon Valley High School. The parade then moves down Hartz Avenue, turns south on San Ramon Valley Boulevard and ends near Sycamore Valley Road.

An estimated 100+ groups are entered to walk in the parade, which takes approximately 3 hours to wind its way through the entire route.  For more information on the parade and route, go to www.srvkiwanis.org/parade

As this event grows, so do parade clean-up efforts.  We are a small town and rely on community partnership to help limit the escalating costs of clean-up in order to host such a wonderful event.  As an annual reminder: Please do not use chalk or tape along the parade route to secure a spot, as neither chalk or tape constitute reservation of a space for the parade.  Instead, place your chairs and other items out after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 3, 2019.  Unattended items are subject to removal by the Town. With a parade route over one mile in length, there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the event.
