[ARCHIVED] San Ramon Valley Boulevard Improvements Project Begins March 11

Traffic Advisory (15)

Scheduled pavement improvement project will cover Fostoria Way to Hartz Way.

The Town of Danville will launch a significant capital improvement project along San Ramon Valley Boulevard on Tuesday, March 11, bringing important upgrades to the area. The San Ramon Valley Boulevard Improvements Project will include fiber optic upgrades, new bicycle infrastructure, and pavement maintenance, enhancing safety and connectivity for residents and commuters.

The paving phase of the project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 11, and will continue for approximately 3-5 weeks, depending on weather. During this time, motorists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes when possible. The project will start on San Ramon Valley Boulevard at the Danville city limits, near the intersection at Fostoria Way. There are four segments needing different levels of repairs, and the work will occur one segment at a time. The first segment is roughly Fostoria Way to Fountain Springs Drive, and the second segment is Sycamore Valley Road to Hartz Way. The two remaining segments in between require a different level of repair and will be done after the first two segments.

The project hours are set to avoid rush hour traffic times, and may include intermittent lane closures with one-way traffic controls. This project was originally announced in 2024, and was delayed due to contractor availability and weather. Last week, the contractor notified residences and businesses along the work route of the upcoming project.

Project Name: San Ramon Valley Boulevard Improvements Project, CIP No. C-600
Location: San Ramon Valley Blvd., from Danville/San Ramon city limits to Hartz Way

Traffic Impact & Roadway Changes

  • Expect traffic delays in the area during construction hours.
  • Lane reductions: Travel lanes will be reduced to one in each direction during resurfacing.
  • Traffic management measures will be in place, including construction signs, flaggers, and control devices to ensure safety.
  • Temporary parking restrictions: “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance to notify residents and businesses of upcoming workdays.
