Danville Welcomes Community to Annual Rec Expo & Open House
The Town of Danville invites the community to the 16th Annual Recreation Expo & Open House on Saturday, February 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Danville Community Center. Designed for families and community members of all ages, the free event offers an early look at the Town’s summer 2026 lineup, with fun opportunities to explore upcoming programs, enjoy hands-on activities, and connect with recreation staff.
This year’s expo theme is The Very Hungry Caterpillar, selected as the Town’s new book bench design through the Danville Book Bench Challenge. The new book bench featuring the theme will be on display at the Rec Expo. The expo experience begins at the Danville Community Center and continues through two additional downtown locations, where attendees are invited to “eat their way” through the event by visiting stops along the route and enjoying treats and activities at each location, including story time at the Danville Library and a presentation by The Bug Lady at the Village Theatre. Throughout the expo, participants can meet the instructors who lead Danville’s specialty classes and camps as well as spin the prize wheel for a chance to win priority registration, Town swag items and other giveaways.
With opportunities for all ages, the expo offers a fun and informative introduction to the Town’s wide range of summer programs. Children can explore options in art, drama, sports, science and more, while older adults can learn about fitness, enrichment and social programs available through the Town. Parents and community members can also visit the Danville Facilities table to learn more about reserving Town venues for celebrations, meetings and community gatherings.
Registration for spring programs, summer camps, and aquatics begins February 10 for Danville residents, with open registration beginning February 17. Residents are encouraged to update their registration accounts in advance at danville.ca.gov/recguide.
