Applications for Business Promotion Funds now being accepted

Applications for Business Promotion Funds now being accepted

Program designed to support business collaboration and promote economic commerce

In its ongoing effort to support the economic vitality of local businesses, the Town of Danville offers a grant program for qualified brick and mortar businesses and local business organizations.

Each year during its budget planning cycle, the Town Council appropriates funds for business promotion within Danville. General Business and Marketing Promotion applications are now being accepted for qualified businesses and organizations through a reimbursable grant. These funds are intended to be used for purposes deemed to be most advantageous to a broad range of the Danville business community. Historically, grants have been given for collaborative events such as the Art and Wine Strolls, Where's Waldo Scavenger Hunt, Shops and Hops, etc.

Grant funds are intended to encourage business collaboration and to support marketing efforts for events, programs and innovative solutions that promote economic commerce among Danville's businesses. The funds cannot be used for the preparation of specialized studies or reports or to promote specific individual businesses or organizations.

Due to the overwhelming response to the program in previous years, the Town will focus on providing funding for applications that:

  1. Provide an opportunity for collaboration among multiple businesses.
  2. Engage consumers with experiential events and widespread promotion opportunities.
  3. Promote events or cooperative marketing programs through print and/or digital mediums.
  4. Incorporate "Live Locally" branding into all marketing efforts.
  5. Ensure patron safety by following all current safety guidelines provided at the federal, state or local level.

The application process begins July 1, 2022. To review eligibility requirements and program details, visit www.danville.ca.gov/businessfundingsupport. Please note a valid business license with the Town of Danville is required prior to submission and home-based businesses are not eligible.

All applications must be submitted through the Business Promotion Funds Application.  For additional questions, contact Lianna Adauto, Economic Development Specialist, at 925-314-3309 or ladauto@danville.ca.gov
