The Danville Police Department is implementing a new program for seniors in Danville.  'You Are Not Alone (YANA)' is a free service offered to Danville seniors who may live alone, or have minor medical issues but are still largely independent. Some of these residents may not leave their homes often, and may not have local family members to check in on them regularly.  As a part of the YANA program, members of the Danville Police Department’s Volunteers in Policing (VIP) Program will perform weekly visits to residents who register for the YANA program.

'You Are Not Alone' offers peace of mind for people unable to leave their homes on a regular basis.  The program is operated in several other communities and has been credited for saving the lives of residents who live alone and may have fallen or become sick.

If you are interested in participating in YANA, or know someone who may benefit from it, contact the Danville Police Department at (925) 314-3700 to sign up or learn more.
