[ARCHIVED] Info Session on Running for Office

Closing up of a voting box. A hand can be seen lowering a ballot into a slot in the top of the box.

As we get closer to election season, the Contra Costa County Elections Division, along with our City Clerk Marie Sunseri are getting prepared for the upcoming elections.  With that in mind, CCC Elections Division has announced that they will be hosting a workshop on May 12, 2018 for anyone interested in running for office in the upcoming November elections.

This engaging workshop is designed to remove the mystery from running for office. Experts will cover what’s involved in running for office, including how to file and appear on the ballot, campaign finance disclosure requirements, strategies for spreading your message (including social media), and what happens when you’re in the public eye.  The workshop will be held from 9 am to 12:30 pm on May 12th at the Pacheco Community Center, 5800 Pacheco Blvd, Pacheco CA. To RSVP, call 925-335-7805 or email Outreach@vote.cccounty.us.

In addition, for those interested in the elections process itself, the CCC Elections Division is currently working on programming and testing every piece of voting equipment that will be used in the June 5, 2018 Primary Election.  The public is invited to check out the equipment testing.  Those interested can contact the Elections Division  at 925-335-7800.  And a public demonstration of the voting equipment is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.  June 1, 2018 at the Clerk-Recorder-Elections Office, 555 Escobar Street, Martinez.

For those of you interested in serving in office in the Town of Danville, contact City Clerk Marie Sunseri at 925-314-3401 or msunseri@danville.ca.gov.
