[ARCHIVED] Annual July 4 Parade Goes Virtual

4th of July

Annual July 4 Parade Goes Virtual

As we head into the summer months, the Kiwanis Club of the San Ramon Valley is calling on the community to participate in their first ever virtual July 4 Parade. Due to the restrictions placed on the Town as a result of the coronavirus, and the sheer amount of time and effort that goes into planning this massive event, the Kiwanis made the decision to move the celebration online for this year. The July 4 Parade will be held online July 4, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. as a livestream.

The community’s help is needed is in providing still images and videos from the 60 year history of the parade.  Additionally, sponsors are needed for the event. Each year, parade sponsorships raise money that is then awarded to dozens of local non-profits in the area.  Since 1995, Kiwanis has donated over $1,000,000 to local charities.

Another way residents can be a part of the festivities is to post photos and videos of their 2020 July 4 celebrations to social media with the hashtag #4thgonevirtual.  Decorated your home with flags and bunting? Post a pic. Your kids have made an amazing 4th of July fireworks chalk art on your sidewalk? Put it online and hashtag it.

For more information or to participate/sponsor the Kiwanis July 4 Parade go to www.srvkiwanis.org/parade .
