[ARCHIVED] Town COVID-19 Update 9/24/2020

Covid-19 Update. Stay Informed.

Health Order Calls for Increased Testing

Under a new health order issued today from Contra Costa Health Services, private healthcare facilities must provide timely COVID-19 testing to essential workers, those exhibiting symptoms and those exposed to the virus.

The new order, which takes effect on October 8, 2020, is designed to answer the growing need for increased COVID-19 testing to increase early detection of the virus and reduce the spread of coronavirus in the community.

CCHS has also sent formal requests to large healthcare providers, such as Kaiser Permanente, John Muir Health, Sutter Health and San Ramon Regional Medical Center to voluntarily adopt policies allowing anyone who asks to get a fast COVID-19 test regardless of whether they have symptoms.

Town Council to Examine Street Closures

Members of the Danville Town Council will meet in special session on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 to discuss the ongoing closure of Hartz Avenue on the weekends. The council will meet at 5:00 p.m. via Zoom.

During the meeting, councilmembers will get an update on the street closure from Economic Development Manager Jill Bergman.  Following the last council meeting, Bergman was directed to reach out to canvass downtown business owners to see how the closures are affecting them and what, if any, changes may be needed.

The agenda for the council meeting as well as the Zoom login information will be posted to the Town’s website at  In addition to Zoom, the meeting will also be streamed to the same webpage, and will be uploaded and available for view following the meeting.
