How Many Cases of COVID-19 in Danville?

This is a question we are seeing quite a bit of, and unfortunately we do not and will not be able to answer it. Federal privacy laws do not allow Contra Costa Health Services to release locations of patients who have tested positive or who have passed away from the virus.

Town Council to Hold Virtual Meetings:

Beginning with the April 7, 2020 meeting, the Danville Town Council will be holding their meetings in a virtual format using the Zoom app. Residents will be able to watch the meetings from home as they are happening, and for those who miss it, the recording of the meeting will be posted to the Town of Danville website www.danville.ca.gov.

Statewide Moratorium on Evictions:

Earlier today, Governor Newsom signed an Executive Order placing a moratorium on evictions. This order affects residential rents, and there are specific guidelines that must be followed. If you’d like to find out if you are eligible, the order can be found at https://www.gov.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/3.27.20-EO-N-37-20-text.pdf

FAQs on the Shelter in Place Order:

We continue to receive many questions from the community on what Contra Costa Health Service’s Shelter in Place order is, what it means, and how it affects our community. We have gathered information from the county’s resources and we have an updated set of FAQs. This can be found at www.danville.ca.gov/coronavirus.

Seniors Encouraged to ‘Find Your Five’

With seniors considered to be an at-risk population, the recommendation for them is to ‘find your five.’ What that means is find five people (family or friends) who can provide assistance during this crisis.  If you can, use those five to handle tasks like yardwork, groceries, and other tasks which could put you at risk.  If you do not have those resources, do your best to limit those tasks as much as possible and utilize neighbors. On Nextdoor, there is a ‘Help Map’ in the top right corner of the screen.

Town Maintenance of Public Spaces

We continue to receive questions about the use of mowing in our area parks.  We would just like to remind everyone that we have reduced the amount that we are mowing our parks to only on an as-needed basis. As well, we have suspended non-essential services such as aerating for the time being.  This is being done in order to maintain the safety of our parks.
