[ARCHIVED] Danville Volunteers Lend-A-Hand to Local Seniors

Lend A Hand Day 2019

Local volunteers will join forces to provide assistance to Danville senior homeowners.

For the 16th year in a row, local volunteers will join forces to provide assistance to Danville senior homeowners in the form of yardwork, raking, mowing, trimming and gutter cleaning. At the April 27, 2019 Lend-A-Hand Day Event, community volunteers join forces to help area seniors by providing individual attention to homeowners who may be no longer able to maintain their yards themselves. This event is “powered by volunteers” and the Town is looking for community members to participate.

Volunteers range in age from teens (with adult supervision) to seniors.  No yardwork experience is necessary. Volunteers are assigned to houses based on home assessments made by the Danville Maintenance Department, who determine size and scope of each home project. Homeowners should be 55 years or older and live in Danville to apply. Senior homeowner applications are available at the Danville Senior Center or by calling (925) 314-3430.

For more information about volunteering go to www.danville.ca.gov/volunteer or contact Volunteer Specialist, Julie Mason, at (925) 314-3478 or Email Julie Mason
